A message from Karla:
My name is Karla Aparicio Ramos, and I’m a Marketing and Communications Consultant at SociosPR, specializing in public affairs and bilingual media strategy. I work at the intersection of policy and storytelling, helping public and private sector clients translate complex initiatives into clear, culturally responsive messaging that builds trust and strengthens community connection.
I graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in Education Studies. My academic background shaped my understanding of civic engagement and the role communications plays in shaping public dialogue.
Before my current role, I served as a Senior Account Executive, where I led strategic communications efforts and developed bilingual digital and earned media materials supporting initiatives such as the Prop 28 Arts and Music in Schools Act, Arizona State University, and the Los Angeles Unified School District. My work has focused on increasing visibility, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and elevating diverse community voices.
In addition to my professional work, I’m the co-founder of FIRST (Fostering Inclusive Resources for Student Transformation), a nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to higher education for first-generation students in California and Washington through mentorship and resource development.
Outside of work, I enjoy mentoring students, staying connected to my community, and finding creative ways to tell impactful stories. I’m passionate about using communications as a tool for equity and creating opportunities for others to succeed.
